Ponoka man turns himself in, charged with abduction of auctioneer Blair Vold

vold-kidnapperA Ponoka man was hit with a string of charges Thursday in connection with the alleged gunpoint abduction of a Central Alberta businessman one week ago.

Mounties say Blair Vold, 55, was abducted from his rural Ponoka area home after he hopped out of his vehicle to move a log that had fallen across the road near his residence on Sept. 15.

On Thursday, RCMP in Ponoka charged 49-year-old Larry Hugh McClelland with abduction, forcible confinement, extortion, possession of a restricted firearm, pointing a firearm, using a firearm in the commission of an indictable offence, uttering threats and mischief under $5000.
