After a stellar rodeo season last year, the 2013 CPRA High Point Cowboy Morgan Grant of Granton Ontario, has been waiting for this type of week all season. After the second day of Pool B, he is in the money in both the Calgary Stampede’s Tie-Down and Steer Wrestling events.

In day two of Pool B, Grant claimed first in the steer wrestling with a time of 4.1. With a top $5,500 check, he now splits second and third place in the Average.

“I am just happy to be here. The first round I got a check in the roping, so I broke the ice.”

Picking up a fifth place check in day one and fourth place check in day two, gives him $4,000 in earnings so far. He is now sitting in third place position in the Calgary Stampede’s Pool B Tie-Down Average.

Like all cowboys, dreaming of winning Calgary was always a big deal. This Ontario cowboy says from growing up watching it in on TV, Calgary became his goal. Canadians, from all sides of the country are now cheering him on this week.

“My mom and dad are here, but my grandparents are back in Ontario.”

For those who can’t be at Stampede, keep your eyes on the TV as Grant could be one of Canada’s cowboys going into the Showdown Sunday, at Calgary.
