Founded in 1909, the Airdrie and District Ag Society (ADAS) have maintained close ties with the surrounding community by hosting agriculture-related events, including the popular Ranch Hand Competition.

The event differs from Ranch Rodeo as there is no bronc riding, but they do have the rest of the events including simulated branding, team sorting, team penning, simulated doctoring and trailer loading of cattle.

The July competition held at the Airdrie Rodeo Grounds saw Ladies Hi- Point Champion awarded to the Cowgirl Cattle Company members Danita Phelan, Judy MacKenzie-West, Robyn Kumlin-Kurble and Wendy Hawes.

The Open Hi-Point Champion was awarded to Soderglen Ranches and the team of Scott Lees, Elan Lees, Jeff Demarni and Kyle Johnson.
