For 42 years, the best rodeo competitors, the best rodeo stock and the best rodeo fans have converged on Alberta’s capital to see the crowning of Canada’s rodeo champions. The exhilarating wins, the crushing defeats, the humour, the humility and the joy is all there as each gives their very best to bring home the title, the buckle and the cheque. In these five days legends are made, heroes are honoured and the next generation is encouraged, as they are welcomed into the tight-knit rodeo family. —Terri Mason
