Crystal Balls, Cattle & Kids

The hardy families that settled in the Cypress Hills a century ago struggled with the weather, communication, transportation, herd health, their own health, finding food for their herd and their families ... and the list goes on! Oops! Technical Error
If you submitted recipes for our upcoming Cowboy Cookin’ II cookbook: We have bad news, we have good news – and we’d like to ask you a favour...

The Bad News...
We experienced a technical glitch with our mail server on our redesigned website – www.cowboycountrymagazine.com. All of the recipes that had been submitted online never got through to Sherry. They vanished into cyberspace. We didn’t discover the problem until Aug 31 and we have no idea how many recipes were lost. (We know we didn’t get three for sure; two from me and one from my sister, Marj.)

The Good News...
The technical geniuses that work in dimly lit offices down dark hallways at Tanner Young have fixed the problem and recipes are now getting through to Sherry.

And Now For the Favour...
If you had submitted a recipe before August 31, can we prevail upon you to re-submit? If you’d rather not use the button on our website you can email your recipe and info directly to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or mail it into the office: Canadian Cowboy Country, Cowboy Cookin’ II, # 1, 9301 50 Street, Edmonton, AB T6B 2L5.

We sincerely apologize for the technical problem and we encourage you to send in your proven family recipes. As you know, Canadian Cowboy Country magazine is a reflection of the people whose mark on the West is as permanent as a brand – and we want you to share in this legacy.
