The most essential piece of western wear, the history of the cowboy boot is steeped in practicality; high heel to prevent your foot from slipping through a stirrup, a 'shelf' on the top of the heel to rest your spurs and a shaft tall enough and stout enough to prevent snake bite and cactus thorns. While modern boots retain the basic traditions, today's styles are as wild and varied as the land we ride.
