After overnight rains put the Night 3 of the Battle of the Rockies in some doubt, the races were run in front of a capacity crowd, and for the second time in 3 days, Rick Fraser placed first for the night with a run of 1:20.15.
Coming off barrel 4 in heat 5, Fraser, driving the Neway Oilfield Services Outfit, won first place for the second time this week by 49 one-hundreds of a second over rookie driver Jordie Fike who placed second on the night. Kelly Sutherland, Troy Flad and Tim Haroldson rounded out the top five for the night.
The day money run put Rick Fraser back atop the overall aggregate standings with a 3-day combined time of 3:57.73. He leads the overall by 1.56 seconds over day 2 leader Rae Croteau Jr. with Troy Flad, Jordie Fike and Grant Profit filling out the top five overall after 3 runs.
The chuckwagon recording the top aggregate time over the 4 days will be declared the 2010 Battle of the Rockies Champion.
The final run of the Battle of the Rockies from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta will go Sunday at 2:00pm.
