Cowboy Hockey!

Horseshoe Cup Action!

Pro Chuck Skinners Play Pro Cowboys

The showdown between the Professional Chuckwagon Men and the Pro Rodeo Cowboys has returned after a one year absence. The 4th Horseshoe Cup will be played on February 19, 2011 at Four Nation Arena in Hobbema, Alberta starting at 7:00pm. A dance will follow at the Stage Coach Saloon at the Ponoka Stampede Grounds in Ponoka, Alberta with the doors opening at 8:00. A food donation at the game would be appreciated.

The Horseshoe Cup is a hockey game that sees members of the World Professional Chuckwagon Association take on members of the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association. It was first played in 2007 and it was the wagon men who prevailed. The chuckwagon men followed it up with another victory in 2008, but the rodeo cowboys won the last one in 2009. With last year’s game not played, both sides have held the cup for two years. The Horseshoe Cup was played in in Big Valley, Alberta the first three years of it’s existence and featured many of the big names of Professional Chuckwagon Racing and Professional Rodeo.

The net proceeds will be donated to a charity in Ponoka. Tickets are $20 at the door. For more information or to register call Rick Fraser at 780-876-6645.
