Social media lives at the Calgary Stampede
The Calgary Stampede is looking to find the Ultimate Intern for The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth. The Ultimate Intern contest launched online and via twitter, looking for the perfect, experience-seeking, blog-posting, Twitter-tweeting, video-streaming person to fill the Ultimate Intern boots.
The 2011 Ultimate Intern winner will live and breathe the Calgary Stampede. While residing in a trailer in the heart of the midway they will have exclusive access to 20 unique Stampede experiences to share with the world via Twitter, blogs and YouTube.
“Social media is such a valuable tool with our audience,” said Tannis Ebbels, Consumer Marketing manager. “We are working hard to stay connected to our community through different avenues. Through the Ultimate Intern contest we are able to engage our online community and introduce them to new and exciting Stampede experiences.”
Interested contestants can upload a 60-second video telling the Calgary Stampede why they would make the Ultimate Intern. From June 9 through 16, contestants’ friends and family, as well as the general public are welcome to vote daily for their favorite video. Judges will choose a winner from the top ten most popular videos. The Ultimate Intern will receive an iphone4, $250 cash, $100 gift certificate for the Stampede Store, $100 midway card, $250 concession Range Bucks, VIP night for two at Nashville North, two tickets to the Rodeo finals and more.
Contestants can upload their videos to www.calgarystampede.com/ultimateintern until June 9. Video voting period runs June 9 – 16 and the Ultimate Intern will be announced on June 24. For more information, check out www.calgarystampede.com.
