Greeting card giant Leanin’ Tree has launched their Redneck line of greeting cards featuring the humour of America’s favourite comedian, Jeff Foxworthy, and Alberta artist Ben Crane.
Jeff, the highest-selling comedian in history, defines Redneck as “blissfully ignorant of sophistication.”
Leanin’ Tree approached Ben with the idea and he was thrilled. “What meant the most was that they approached me; it’s quite an honour.”
“Ben has been an important partner to Leanin’ Tree for many years,” says Tom Trumble, President of Leanin’ Tree. “He has provided us with countless pieces of hilarious artwork that have helped sell millions of greeting cards. I am confident that retailers and customers alike will be delighted with the comic collaboration of Jeff Foxworthy and Ben Crane.”
It turns out that Jeff was already a fan of Ben’s work. When they met, Ben handed Jeff a deck of his Wild West playing cards. Jeff looked at the popular Salt Lick picture on the cover and exclaimed, “You drew that? I have the mugs in my cupboard — I’m a fan!”
The cards are available at select retailers across the country.
