Joe Carbury
1926–2017
Joe Carbury, whose gravelly voice thrilled chuckwagon racing fans for 45 years with his “And they’rrrre off …” passed away at the age of 88. The legendary Stampede chuckwagon announcer was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in 2003, and later, his life story was recorded for the Calgary Stampede Archives.
